This year has defiantly been one of those years that we mostly want to forget about with the number of lockdowns, missing family/friends and just stress of it all. ! I have always loved watching Netflix but this year takes the biscuit on how many hours I have watched since March.

I can’t complain though as I have watched some of my favourites and also discovered programmes I normally wouldn’t watch.

Check out the post for some of my faves

Lucifer (2016-present)

Ohhhhh what can I say? This has to be one of my favourite series ever. Lucifer started off on Prime Video but now it lives on Netflix. The series is about Lucifer Morningstar who leaves hell to live on earth. Along the way, he helps a Detective Chloe Decker solve crimes/murders and while he does he is tested and falls in love on the way.

Altered Carbon (2018-2020)

Set 300 years in the future, society has completely changed and transformed by new technology. Human bodies are now interchangeable and death is no longer the end. Each season they are twists and turns with the main character called Takeshi Kovacs

Ash VS The Evil Dead (2015 -2018)

If you loved the classic Evil Dead films then this series is for you as Ash Williams is back with this dark comedy series! Even though this can be gory in many places they are plenty of laughs with the fabulous Ash and his new friends, worth a watch.

Tiger King (one season)

What can I say about this programme? If you haven’t seen this yet then I suggest you do. It’s so crazy

Baki (2018-present)

This programme is based on Manga with the main character being martial artist champion Baki Hanma. He trains hard to try to beat his father and any other guy who wants to take him on.

The Vicar of Dibley (1994-2007)

Dibley is a small village in Oxfordshire and the church assigns a female vicar to their church. This programme is a British comedy with lots of laughs and some moments that make you think.

Still Game (2002 – 2019)

This is a cult Scottish comedy based on two OAPS Jack and Victor. They reminisce on old times while making the most of their now in Craiglang.

The Umbrella Academy (2019-present)

I put off watching this series for ages but damn I wish I never, the series are just fabulous. It’s based on the book series of the same name. The characters are a dysfunctional family with all the siblings being adopted superheroes. They all come back together to try to solve their dad’s death. It goes from 0-100 quickly!

Other amazing picks

Conversation with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (1 season)

This was heart-wrenching at how long it went on for. This is an in-depth look into Ted Bundy.

Better Call Saul (2015-present)

If you have watched Breaking Vad then you will love this. It has Saul Goodman in it before he was Saul. It starts off with him being Jimmy a small-time attorney but along the way he is tested in many ways and becomes the Saul we all know.

You (2018-present)

This is about an over the top bookshop owner Joe who overthinks the way he wants love to go. He becomes more sinister along the way.

Disenchanted (2018-present)

Princess Tiabeanie is frustrated about her upcoming marriage but along the way she makes friends with an elf, Elfo and a demon called Luci. Its a strange story but fun to watch.

Breaking Bad (2008-2013)

A classic that is must watch! Walter White is a chemistry teacher who discovers he’s got cancer. He decides to make m*th so pay for his medical bills but his choices change when he meets and partner with Jesse.

Based in the 1700s this programme is based on the booming fur trade in Hudson Bay. Delcan Harp wants a piece of the fortune but meets many obstacles.

Roman Empire (2016-present)

If you love history then you will love this. Each episode is rich in Roman history. Brilliant watch.

Ratched (2020 -present)

A young nurse at a mental institution enters her job very bitter but ends up like a monster. Every episode is nail-biting.

American Horror Story (2011-present)

What can I say? one of my favourite series ever. My favourites have to be Murder House, Hotel and Asylum. Characters tend to recur in each season which makes it quite quirky.

Stranger Things (2016-present)

A programme that I am sure many of us have seen. It starts off with Will Byers having visions upside down but not long after they is many twists and turns and demogorgons!

Santa Clarita Diet (2017-2019)

Small family life is turned upside down when the mom estate agent Shelia ends up turning into a zombie! Her diet changes and her husband tries to help her along the way.

Love, Death & Robots (2019 – present)

These are short animated episodes which are all different. Some will make you laugh, others make you think and others will make you think WTF?!
