Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask Review

When it comes to face masks I must say I am very partial to using them a couple of times a week ( even more so now we are on a lockdown) My skin is normal to combination and sometimes can be a little on the oily side so i need something to help give my skin a little bit of a detox every now and again.

I have tried my fair share of face masks over the years but when it comes to a pink clay face masks I think I have only tried one prior to this one. This pink clay mask was kindly sent for me to review from Alya Skin

First impressions
I really like the packaging! It feels the price ( considering its £29.99) it does feel good and looks nice too. The packaging has a screw-on lid and the clay has a keep fresh lid on top of that too, so you know its always going to be fresh when you need it.

When I first opened the jar I could smell a very subtle but refreshing floral scent from the clay. The texture was a lot smoother than I expected it to be which was a nice surprise. I would say this consistency of it reminded me a lot of thick but creamy yoghurts.
Now I wouldn't go jumping in the deep end and drenching this all over your face without prepping your skin first. I would 100% recommend the following steps to make the most of this mask and also your skincare regime.

Firstly I would cleanse. Your favourite will do but my favourite at the moment is the Pixi hydrating milky cleanser.
Secondly, Exfoliate. I currently use Arks triple-action exfoliator as it helps clear my skin
Then I would apply this Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask for the time the recommend which is 10 minutes.
Followed by using a moisturiser or if you want to add a serum too for extra skin TLC or if you feel you need it.

I made many skincare mistakes in the past thinking a face mask would work miracles on my skin without using skincare prior to or following using a face mask. Ever since I have I have noticed a huge difference

So I was wondering when I got this was, how many uses can I actually get out of this jar? I can say that I have used it a few times now and it's still going strong! It says on their website that one jar can last up to 2 months if used a few times a week.

I applied this face mask with a foundation brush but using freshly washed hands would work fine too. I applied it generously all over my face and I was kinda expecting it to sting as some masks have in the past but this one didn't, this one actually feel cooling and refreshing on my skin which was a nice surprise.

Over the course of 10 minutes, it does not feel uncomfy, it just feels like a nice thick cream with a lovely fresh rose smell. Over the time you do feel it feel a little tighter as it starts to dry since its a clay.

After the 10 minutes have passed I washed it off with warm water in my sink ( sometimes I do this in the shower if I'm tight on time or just want to do 2 tasks at once) and to complete it I used a small hand towel and put some warm water on it and gently wipe any excess off my face. After using the mask I put off my moisturiser and depending on what time it is will either be a day or night cream.

I did notice after the first time using it that my skin feels smoother but me being me I wanted to try it a few times to test that this wasn't just a fluke but nope it worked well for me each time I have used it. It tightens my pores, leaves my face feeling fresher and also creates a smoother base for my makeup which I just love. I am wholeheartedly very impressed with this face mask.
I really like this pink clay mask. It has impressed me a lot because not only does it smell lovely but it also gives me amazing results. It costs £29.99 but if you break it down it lasts 2 months and gives you 2-3 uses a week so that is around 12 uses on the lower estimates. If you use it minimally as above each use is around £2.50 per application which is cheaper than many single-use sheet masks.

They also have other products in their range too such as pomegranate facial exfoliator, Australian native berries moisturiser and also a foaming micellar cleanser.

  1. I think when you break down the cost as if you were using sheet masks, it sounds much more reasonable because at first glance it does seem pretty pricey! But it looks like a fab mask, I love the packaging too! I've actually never tried a clay mask x

  3. Hmm I should try using my facebrush to apply face masks. That's a good idea. I have such sensitive skin that I am almost afraid of using products. But this looks good. Thanks for the review.

  5. This is an expensive mask but the fact you said it lasts around 2 months, depending on how much you use it, really makes up for it in my personal opinion! I love the fact it's pink too. I've heard such fab things about this mask and this brand in general tbh xx

  10. Aloe vera and witch hazel are a wining formula when it comes to skin care. I am unfamiliar with kaolin oil, but if it gets rid of those oils, it's definitely a plus.
