For me, red lipstick is such a classic and ‘go well’ with any style accessory. Whether its matte, satin or gloss, red works wonderfully with any of these products.
I only started wearing classic red lipsticks in my mid-twenties as I never found one that suited me. Now I have reached thirty, I know which retro lipsticks I love after a lot of searching. I like to switch them up whenever I feel like I want a change.
Whenever I think of classic red lipsticks, people who come to mind for me has to be Marilyn Monroe, Rhianna, Gwen Stefani and Tim Curry.
Check out the post to see which classic reds made it on my list..
Choosing these 5 red lipsticks was so easy for me as I only tend to use these particular ones.
The Best Red Lipsticks
MAC – ‘Russian Red’ Matte Lipstick
‘Russian Red’ has a creamy rich formula with a high colour payoff. It has an intense blueish red colour with a no-shine matte finish. I have used and absolutely loved this lipstick for a few years now.
I love how effortlessly this makes anyone look really glam. It is soft enough to use and reapplying is easy as it doesn’t flake or feel horrible.
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour in ‘Uncensored’
Stunna Lip paints have a long-lasting matte pigment so when you wear it, it feels very light on your lips. Uncensored is a perfectly universal red so its suitable for any skin tone.
Applying this has to be the easiest one I’ve ever used. The applicator fits the shape of the lips perfectly, so you can apply this the way you want it every time.
Pop Beauty Permanent Pout Liquid Lipstick in ‘Red Velvet’
These are beautifully velvet liquid lipsticks. Red Velvet is a luscious deep red and applies very easily.
Its long-wearing lipstick with an intense colour payoff. I am not sure if they make this any more but I do like it.
Haus Laboratories Le Monster Matte Lip Crayon in ‘1950‘
These are a full-coverage cream to matte lip crayons. this one was made so all you need is to simply apply one layer and that’s you done!
1950 is a warm, pure red that is inspired by the 1950s! This has to be one of my favourite products from Haus Laboratories.
Antipodes Healthy Lipsticks in Forest Berry Red
A wild warm based true red which is inspired by bright berries on which new Zealand songbirds feast. This is called a healthy lipstick because its ingredients are all safe and natural.
Not only are this lipstick intense and moisturising but they are also natural and vegetarian friendly !!
So these are my favourite classic red lipsticks, I hope you like my choices.
