Urban Decay Heat Palette | Review

31 May 2018      1 Comment

Hello, Darlings!
I have had this palette for almost a year now and it has to be one of the most used eyeshadow palettes that I have in my collection. In my collection, I have a variety of different eyeshadow palettes but for some reason, I never seem to have enough of them? they are so many out there to choose from.
Urban Decay was founded nearly 20 years ago when they decided it was time to add purples, greens etc into the makeup routine rather than the usual reds, beige and pinks which were dominating the market. Not only have urban decay brought out some amazing bright products so many other brands have too.

Tantrum Doughnuts in Glasgow | Review

30 May 2018      Leave a Comment

Hello, Darlings!
I am a big fan of trying new foods, especially when its doughnuts!
Tantrum Doughnuts is an award-winning doughnut shop based in Glasgow and was founded in 2015. The doughnuts are so delicious looking that they would make Homer Simpson jealous that they had to expand to 2 shops to meet demand. All of their doughnuts are handmade and with traditional bakery, techniques compared to mainstream factory-produced doughnuts. Each doughnut is made with a yeast-raised brioche bun which is proofed for 16 hours to develop the flavour; talk about dedication eh?

I have loved doughnuts for as long as I can remember and the all-time favourite doughnut I’ve had was when I went to Mexico City when I was 15. The doughnut I had was made in a small shop and it was bright pink with pink sprinkles on top and my goodness it was huge and the most delicious doughnut ever.
Tantrum doughnuts have 2 locations but the one I went to is in the west end on old Dumbarton road. The shop is small but it inviting as the decor is lovely and you can see all the doughnuts and drinks they have available in a glass case and also on the chalkboard above the counter.

You can eat inside the shop even though they aren’t a lot of room; if you can find a seat it’s possible. You can take out as they put the doughnuts you choose nicely into boxes or a bag. If you buy a dozen or more they take 10% off. They also have a selection of hot and cold drinks.
So what did I choose?
I choose a selection of doughnuts to give a try with my family. I think I got most of the menu LOL.
Vanilla Creme Brulee
Pistachio & Hibiscus Ring
Peanut Butter and Jam
Lemon and Poppyseed ‘old fashioned’
Tonka Bean and Orange oil ring
Almond Glaze buttermilk ‘old fashioned’
I have to admit I love how unique the flavours of these doughnuts are. I have never tried most of these kinda flavours before trying tantrum doughnuts.
tantrum doughnuts glasgow
I didn’t know which doughnut to start with first because they all look so fluffy and delicious to eat! I just chose pistachio and hibiscus first because I just love pink and my goodness does I love pistachios, they are just delicious that I could demolish a packet in no time.
So how did they taste?
Vanilla Creme Brulee If you love the taste of creme brulee then this is the doughnut for you as inside the doughnut it’s filled with a soft delicious vanilla centre. I am not the biggest fan of creme brulee but my son loved the crispy outer of this doughnut and soft centre of this doughnut.
Pistachio & Hibiscus Ring Can I have a crate of these doughnuts, please? Honestly, this doughnut is so delicious, it has a pistachio glaze and hibiscus reduced with a topping of crunchy candied pistachios. If you ever visit Glasgow I would definitely recommend this doughnut.
Peanut Butter and Jam It’s peanut butter jelly time! If you love peanut butter teamed with jam then this doughnut is for you! It has a lovely topping of thick but creamy peanut butter with a centre of homemade raspberry jam.
Lemon and Poppyseed ‘old fashioned’ This is an old-fashioned buttermilk style doughnut with poppy seed and lemon glaze. I can’t say I am a huge fan of this as I found it a little bitter.
Tonka Bean and Orange oil ring This doughnut is infused with tonka bean and orange oil. I am not the biggest fan of citrus things but if you love citrus with a hint of sweetness then this is definitely a doughnut for you.
Almond Glaze buttermilk ‘old fashioned’ This is a buttermilk style doughnut with an almond glaze. This doughnut as it was nutty yet milky in taste.
Double blueberry and white chocolate I have never seen a square doughnut before. This doughnut is a buttermilk style doughnut made with fresh blueberries, blueberry jam glaze and white chocolate. This doughnut kinda reminded me of a blueberry muffin, very satisfying.

My thoughts
I enjoy getting doughnuts here from time to time as it’s nice to support an independent store rather than just getting the usual store-bought doughnuts. These doughnuts are a bit more expensive than store-bought ingredients but the prices can be justified because of the flavours they have to offer and all the doughnuts are handmade every day.
I can’t say I loved all the flavours but then again I can be super fussy at some points but I did love most of the doughnuts I bought and if I didn’t my family sure did. I would definitely recommend giving their doughnuts a try with a fresh coffee.

Trying out the Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Unicorn Elixir

26 May 2018      3 Comments

Hello, Darlings!
I actually can’t believe that have started a youtube channel, I know it sounds silly but it has boosted my confidence so much since starting it. I thought why not give a little demo to show you this product while I’m at it.
Makeup Revolution is a London based makeup company that sell a variety of amazing budget products including eyeshadow palettes, concealer and so much more. The company is cruelty-free and many of the products are gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
makeup revolution liquid highlighter unicorn elixir review
I have never tried liquid highlighters before only ones that are powered pressed into pans so trying this was something totally new for me. I have seen so many high-end liquid highlighters but the price of some of them made me gasp with disbelief so finding a budget-friendly option was very welcome for me.
So what did I choose?
They are 7 different shimmery shades to choose from and boy did I have a hard time which one to choose so I just chose at random and bought ‘Unicorn Elixir’. The formula for these is cruelty-free, vegan and gluten-free.
Ingredients list.
sododecane, calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl Dimethicone Ethoxy Glucoside, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Styrene/Isoprene Copolymer, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Mica, Propylparaben, BHT May Contain [+/- CI 77891]

So ‘Unicorn Elixir’ is a magical shimmer and reflective and iridescent lilac. I was super impressed with the formula of this because it’s so darn thick and very pigmented. You don’t need much product for a gorgeous shimmery glow. You can use this as a highlighter or you could mix it with your foundation for a dewy glow. I would even say you could use it on your body for a sparkly look.
The packaging is very simple and reminds me of a lot of serum bottles as it has a droplet applicator. I love the packaging as its got a lovely shine to it and to me has some luxury product vibes to it. They are a choice of 7 other highlights which are called as follows
Liquid highlighters available
Starlight. Champagne.  Luminous gold. Lustre gold. Rose gold and Bronze gold
makeup revolution liquid highlighter review and swatches
As you can see by the swatch below which is only one large drop of the product is that you don’t need much to get a gorgeous pigmented shimmer.  I suggest putting a small amount of product on the back of your hand ( one or two drops ) and apply the highlighter to places desired with your makeup brushes of choice. I love using Collection contour brush and my Primark buffing brush with this liquid highlighter.
How much is the highlighter?
Well, I was surprised that it only cost £6 which is a good price for a product that works so well and it so pigmented.
Where can I buy it?
It is available on the makeup revolution website and also in Superdrug stores.

 My thoughts
I love this highlighter and I have definitely been won over by using a liquid highlighter. I would even say that this is a multi-use product as you can use it as a highlighter, mix with foundation for a luminous dewy glow or even use on your body for a sparkly shimmer; what’s not to love?
I like to use this on my cheekbones, cupids bow and to highlight my nose too. I think its a very long-lasting product and works really well the urban decay all nighter makeup setting spray for the long-lasting finish; especially if you’re going to a party.
I can’t reiterate enough that a little bit of this product goes a long way, its like magic how well this product works with even a drop, you could even say its magical. It can be a little tricky to use at first but as I said above put it on your hand first and apply with makeup brush of choice to the area desired.
Even though I love this product a lot I am not keen on the smell of it but it works so well that I am not bothered by that at all.
Check out my youtube video of me trying on makeup revolutions liquid highlighter in Unicron elixir which a switch too. Would appreciate a subscribe too 💜

A random Superdrug Beauty Haul

23 May 2018      Leave a Comment

Hello, Lovelies!

I love shopping in Superdrug as I love finding budget-friendly makeup products that work just as well are premium products. I actually only went to Superdrug to get myself a new eyeliner as my favourite one has run out and what happens? I end up buying more things that caught my eye.

I haven’t bought many things from makeup revolution in ages but my goodness they have brought so many things out lately that I actually want to try out so many of their products including Carmis and Tammis palette

Superdrug beauty haul
So what did I buy you wonder?
Revolution Renaissance Illuminate – Radiant in Rose
I just love how elegant this actually looks! I got this for a steal price of £8 as the design and packaging of this is second to none. The highlighters themselves are embossed with a lovely design and the pigmentation of the swatches is just lovely. I am looking forward to trying out this palette a lot more in the future.
Revolution Brow Pomade in Blonde
I have been wanting to try ABH products for a long time but I am little unsure on the price tag seeing as it nearly costs £20! I have bought this pomade before and I just loved it so I thought why not try the blonde version when I just loved the graphite version. This one is a bargain at just £6 and includes a little eyebrow brush.Revolution Liquid Highlighter Unicorn Elixir
Yes, I bought another highlighter! I just love wearing highlighters but even more so during the spring and summer months. I have never used a liquid highlighter before so I am excited to give this a try and with a name like Unicron elixir, what’s not to love?

superdrug haul
Rimmel Ink Me Up Tattoo Stamp Star
Me being me I was fooled by accident thinking that this tattoo liner was designed with stars not actually a star eyeliner stamp. I am not even mad though because it looks kinda cute adding little stars to my eyeliner makeup effortlessly.
Rimmel Soft Khol Eye Pencils
I love these kohl eye pencils! I put these on my waterline for a more defined makeup look. I usually use the white pencil more as it brightens my eyes up. These are a bargain at £2.99 each because they are super creamy and easy to apply whilst being long-lasting too.
Have you bought anything in Superdrug lately?

My Morning Skincare Regime for Spring

22 May 2018      Leave a Comment

Hello, Lovelies!
If you asked me a few years ago what my morning skincare routine was I would have told you quite simply that I didn’t even have one and I was lucky if I used a Nivea cream all day never mind waking up with a routine. Now I have a simple routine every morning and I just love it as it keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated and it also sets me up for the day as I feel fresh.
I have tried a few brands over the years and obviously as new products come out and also you discover more brands they could also feature in my routine but at the moment these following products are must-have products for my morning skincare regime.
morning skincare routine
Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream 15ml – £2.99
Superdrug skincare products are definitely underestimated but to me, they are absolutely amazing. This eye cream is perfect for the delicate skin on the eye area and the formula is cooling and no greasy. This eye cream contains glycerin that helps nourish the eyes. I love this as it works well on my under eyes and its cooling; a perfect wakeup call.
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub 25g – £5.95
I am sure a few of you will be wondering why on earth are they a lip scrub on a morning skincare regime? Well for me personally it is a must as it preps and polishes lips ready for makeup application. Even on days, I don’t wear makeup this is a must as it helps keep my lips feeling soft and avoids them from getting dry and cracked.Superdrug Naturally Radiant Cream 75ml – £5.99
This cream is formulated with 15 SPF and is formulated with energising complex infused with kiwi fruit and mulberry extract which helps revive skin radiance and even skin tone. I love how light this feels on the skin and how soft it leaves my skin with its lots of ingredients that feed the skin. This cream is a bargain price and works wonders on the skin, I would recommend Superdrug skincare to anyone.

morning skincare routine
Dr Botanicals Morrocan Rose Superfood Facial Oil 15ml – £29.90
I don’t use this every day but I do use this when my skin needs a little more TLC. This facial oil is full of minerals and vitamins that work together to rejuvenate, renew and protect the skin. The active ingredients in this oil are; Vitamin C which stimulates collagen production. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant which aims to rejuvenate the skin, even skin tone and signs of ageing. It also has almond oil which nourishes the skin to brighten the skin.
The Body Shop Rose Petal Face Gel Toner 250ml – £9.50
I just love the fact that this toner is enriched with real rose petals and contains no alcohol. This leaves my skin feeling soft, soothed and replenished. I like to apply this just after I wash my face in the morning with a cotton wool pad in the morning. The smell of this is just lovely.
