Hello Everyone!
I enjoy going out for meals in restaurants but my favourite time of the year to go is on my birthday! I have been meaning to visit Tompolabamba in Glasgow for a fair number of years now but just never got round to it, especially with the Lockdown. Finally, now I have been with my family ‘ Trying out Topolabamba in Glasgow, UK. I can share my review with you now guys.
Mexican food has been a favourite of mine ever since I went to Mexico on vacation when I was 15 with my mum and sister. I have positive memories for sure including seeing Teotihuacan. In Mexico city the food was extraordinary; my tastes buds were bursting with flavours I have never had before!

I decided to choose Topolabamba on the day of my birthday as it was a random decision on the day (story of my life haha). Thankfully you can book online so no worries of no seats being left when you go down.
I went with my family and the table they gave us was quirky and fun. Ideal for a family even though it was a little drafty as it was near the front door. The decor was wonderful, I loved the Latin vibes from it. The bar was the icing on the cake as it added character to the restaurant.
They have the main, drinks and also a kids menu which is ideal as I took my children with us. The menus aren’t immense which is a good thing. It’s straightforward to choose what you would like to eat and drink. On the menu, they are several choices for halal, Gluten-Free, Vegans and Vegetarians.

We decided to get a variety of dishes to try out. I chose the vegetarian options. They are choices for everyone here.
I ordered the following
Guacamole with tortilla chips (4.5/5) – The chips were rather plain but they were lightly salted which was rather nice. Paired with the guacamole they are heaven! Recommend for sure. Need to add salsa for a zingy twist when I get these again hopefully.
Guacamole, Black Bean & Corn topped with cheese Tostadas (3/5) – I dunno if I liked them or not to be honest. They were very crispy and a bit on the lukewarm side. I was expecting them to be hotter but i can’t complain because the cheese on top made them quite nice. I would try again for sure.
Churros (5/5)- My favourite food of the night! These are like long doughnuts with sugar and a spicy chocolate dip, so nice! Too good to share even LOL!

My thoughts
I enjoyed finally going here with my family. The decor was fabulous, the staff were friendly and the food was so enjoyable. I would go back again to try out more of their vegan/vegetarian foods for sure.

The food looks delicious but those churros seem really good. I suddenly craved a few pieces plus a chocolate dip because it’s been so long since I last ate churros.
